Regulatory Advocacy
In addition to its Private Sector Advocacy in the courts and the political arena, MAG's Office of General Counsel, in conjunction with MAG's Department of Health Policy, advocates vociferously before a variety of federal and state regulatory bodies. Often times, after MAG has won a significant battle in the legislative or legal arena, the fight on the same issue shifts to the regulatory arena. On some occasions, in an effort to avoid a legislative or legal battle in the courts, MAG will advocate for physicians and patients on an issue before a federal or state regulatory body to obtain a more appropriate interpretation or implementation of a law affecting health care.
